2014 - 2015 Bronco Booster Club Meetings, Events, and Announcements

2014 - 2015 Meeting Dates and Locations
Booster Club meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm routinely at the CUHS Library and twice during the school year at the Cayucos Library. All Booster and community members are welcome.
  • September 3 – CHUS

2014 Booster Events and Announcements
March 8, 2014 - THE REVERSE DRAWING, a Bronco Booster annual fundraiser, will be held at the Cambria Vet's Hall, doors open at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $100 each and include dinner for two and the opportunity to win up to $5,000. A silent auction and raffle offer many wonderful items donated by local area merchants in this event that supports the students of Coast Union High School.

March 28 through April 6 - STUDENT DRAMA PRODUCTION: GUYS & DOLLS 
2014 Performance dates for Guys & Dolls are March 28, 29, April 4, 5 –> 7 pm • March 30, April 6 –> 3 pm
Tickets on sale starting February 2014 at the Cambria Chamber of Commerce (805- 927-3624), at the CUHS school office, and at the door. $20 Reserved, $10 General, $5 Students.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR GRADUATING SENIORS, are awarded each school year by the Bronco Booster Club. There are two types of scholarships offered by the Boosters and students are encouraged to determine their eligibility.

Individual Bronco Booster Club Scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria: 

1. Be a graduating senior student.
2. Demonstrate good sportsmanship
3. Demonstrate personal involvement in a variety of school activities
4. Maintain good academic standards
5. Demonstrate exemplary conduct in representing Coast Union High School
6. 
Demonstrate personal involvement in school or community service;

    and participation in Booster-sponsored activities
7. Submit a complete and neat application
8. 
Give a good interview

The Dave Melendy Scholarships are awarded by the Boosters and based on the following criteria: 
Preliminary Criteria for Award
1. Be a graduating senior student.
2. Demonstrate good sportsmanship, citizenship and  

    exemplary conduct in representing Coast Union
    High School
3. Demonstrate personal involvement in a variety of 
    school activities
4. Demonstrate service to others
5. Maintain good academic standards
6. Submit a complete, neat and factually accurate 

    application
7. Give a good interview

Additional Criteria
The Committee shall also consider these factors when evaluating candidates:
• Activity in an area in which Dave Melendy once
   had a demonstrated interest
Examples might include but are not limited to:
a. Public safety, emergency, or medical services 
    worker or volunteer (life guard, ranger trainee, 
    etc.)
b. Sports activity in a field Dave coached or 
    supported

• Aspiring student of public safety, healthcare, 
   medical services

• Interest in computer technology
